Diane Lane attended Elle magazine's annual "Women in Hollywood" on October 15. The complete list of honorees included, director Julie Taymor ("Across the Universe"), and actors Bacall, Kate Bosworth ("Superman Returns"), Jennifer Connelly ("A Beautiful Mind"), Amy Adams ("Junebug") and Scarlett Johansson ("Lost in Translation"). Talking about current opportunities for women in the business, Diane said, “There’s a lot more opportunity for young women, and that’s great, and I like to think that I was there to help pave a few stones. It’s wonderful to have all the different stages of a woman’s life acknowledged and appreciated.”

Lots of people to be cast for Gere, Lane movie - 2007-05-08
More than a hundred people went to Roanoke Island for casting calls for "Nights in Rodanthe," the movie starring Richard Gere and Diane Lane. The film is based on Nicholas Sparks'romantic novel with the same name. It tells the story of a retired doctor and a divorced single mother that have their chance for love when they meet in Rodanthe. Other location shoots include Ocracoke Island, Manteo, Manns Harbo. Outer Banks residents are so far delighted with their chance to be on the big screen.
